How we judge a deal
Every number and badge on Trigger Deals comes from data you can see and check. No countdown timers, no invented stock counts, no paid placement in the rankings.

- Landed price
- The item price plus shipping to you. Sales tax and, for guns, your FFL dealer's transfer fee are not included because they depend on where you live. We rank and compare on landed price so a cheap box with expensive shipping can't win.
- Price per round
- For ammo, the landed price divided by the number of rounds. It's how a 50-round box and a 1,000-round case compare fairly. Multipacks of magazines get price per magazine.
- Price history
- Every day we record the lowest landed price across all stores for each product. That one line is what every chart, badge and signal on the site is built from.
- Usual price
- The median of the last 90 days of price history. We use the median rather than the average so a one-day flash sale or a sold-out spike doesn't distort it.
- Deal signal
- Lower than usual when today's landed price is at least 3% below the usual price, higher than usual when it's at least 3% above, and about usual in between.
- Lowest in 90 days
- Shown only when today's price is at or below every price in the previous 90 days and also lower than usual. Open the chart and you'll see it.
- Held for
- How many days in a row the lowest price has stayed exactly where it is now. A new low is marked as new today.
- Checked and stock
- Each store's offer shows when we last verified it. Stock is shown exactly as the store reports it: in stock, a quantity when they share one, out of stock, or not reported.
